The TRSA Healthcare Committee offers expertise and support in several key areas:
- Evaluating proposed projects, initiatives, and research that enhance value for TRSA members and the textile services industry, including project goals, benefits, timelines, costs, and expectations in the healthcare sector.
- Appointing representatives to:
- Develop educational and training content.
- Review both new and existing materials.
- Identify topics, speakers, and authors for webinars, blogs, conferences, and other events.
- Manage website content, including the roster, mission, and objectives.
Current Projects
Commercial Laundering of Scrubs
TRSA is appealing to these providers with a marketing and sales campaign that highlights key messages about the risks of home laundering of scrubs. TRSA advocates for the professional laundering of all scrubs at facilities that have been properly certified in order to reduce infection.

- Stop staff from leaving the hospital with scrubs
- Reduce the risk of cross contamination
- Ensure the scrubs are properly laundered
Reusable PPE vs. Disposable PPE
TRSA is creating a marketing and sales campaign that highlights key messages about the use of reusable PPEs versus disposable PPEs in healthcare facilities. As part of this initiative, the committee emphasizes a reverse-engineering disposable marketing campaign sales proposal with a push on sustainability efforts.
Key Messaging
- Potential collaboration with the National Academies of Science, Engineering and Medicine (NAS)
- Limit the initiative to specific items, thereby increasing the level of focus we can bring to the initiative
- Target audience are decision makers at healthcare facilities

The annual Healthcare Trends Survey collects relevant information that will enhance our understanding of the industry’s evolving landscape and future direction.
Healthcare Resources
Committee members pursue new ways to educate customers about the value of healthcare laundry services and guide the industry in serving the market more efficiently. Videos share best practices for handling clean and soiled linen. Research supports our industry’s promotion and members’ individual communications to the acute care and specialty markets.
