Requirements

Purpose of the Position:

The Field Service Technician serves as the primary representative of the Kannegiesser ETECH Service Department, embodying the company’s commitment to KE’s Core Values of excellence in customer service and technical support. They are entrusted with not only delivering superior service but also with fostering positive relationships with customers, ensuring their satisfaction and trust in the brand. As the frontline ambassador, the Field Service Technician plays a pivotal role in upholding the company’s reputation for reliability, professionalism, and expertise within the industrial laundry industry.

The role requires frequent travel, both domestically and internationally, to cater to the diverse needs of Kannegiesser ETECH customers. Working flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, is necessary to accommodate varying schedules and urgent requirements. Additionally, being on call for immediate assistance ensures swift resolution of any pressing issues that may arise.

Field Service Technicians are entrusted with a high level of autonomy, requiring them to independently manage their responsibilities and make informed decisions in the field. As representatives of the company, they bear the responsibility of upholding professional standards, ensuring customer satisfaction, and promoting the values and reputation of Kannegiesser ETECH while in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

Installation: Expertly install industrial laundry systems at customer locations, ensuring adherence to Kannegiesser (HKV) and Kannegiesser ETECH specifications.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues with KE industrial laundry equipment, encompassing mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and software complexities.
Repair: Perform meticulous repairs and maintenance on KE laundry systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
Training: Provide comprehensive on-site training to clients on equipment operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of service visits, repairs, and parts used for reference and reporting.
Customer Service: Cultivate positive customer relationships by addressing concerns, answering queries, and ensuring overall satisfaction.
Safety: Prioritize safety by strictly adhering to protocols and guidelines while working on customer premises.
Continuous Learning: Stay abreast of industry advancements and technologies to enhance skills and knowledge.
On-Call Availability: This position will be part of an on-call rotation for weekends and evenings to address urgent customer issues promptly.

Academic & Trade Qualifications (required & preferred):

High School diploma or its equivalent.
Technical degree or certification of completion of a 2-year trade school program specializing in electrical and mechanical repair or a related field.

Work Experience & Skills (required & preferred):

1-year experience in installing, maintaining, and repairing industrial laundry equipment or similar machinery is required.
Exceptional problem-solving abilities to identify issues, analyze root causes, and implement effective solutions.
Clear and effective communication, both verbal and written, with customers and colleagues.
Strong mechanical aptitude with proficiency in diagnosing and repairing complex machinery. Familiarity with electrical systems, PLCs, and industrial controls is advantageous.
Must be able to acquire and uphold a valid US passport and US-issued driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Machinery & Technology Experience & Skills:

Microsoft Office Suite (including Outlook, Teams, Excel, etc.).
Proficiency in interpreting mechanical assembly drawings, as well as electrical, pneumatic, steam, and gas schematics, is essential.
Strong troubleshooting skills are required to identify and resolve common equipment issues within electrical, pneumatic, steam, and hydraulic circuits.
Capable of utilizing a voltmeter and pressure-flow gauges to assess and confirm circuit amperage, voltage, and pressure levels.
Experience with electro-mechanical automation, including variable-speed drives, servo drives, sensors, PLCs, and associated software and hardware, is advantageous.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift, raise, lower, push or carry up to 50 lbs. from ground to waist, waist to overhead and from one surface to another at mid level.
Ability to bend, crouch, kneel or crawl often in small or cramped spaces.
Ability to ascend or descend structures like ladders, scaffolding, ropes or poles that require the use of both upper and lower body to climb up to 25 feet tall.
Ability to work on equipment that is over individuals head and shoulders/at or below the shoulders while standing/sitting.
Ability to walk/navigate/stand on both even and uneven surfaces.
Physical dexterity to manipulate small parts including ability to grasp and pinch small objects.
Ability to enter text or data into a computer or other machine by means of a traditional keyboard or 10-Key.
Clarity of vision at approximately 20 inches or less (that is, working with small objects or reading small print), including use of computers.
Clarity of depth perception both less than 20 inches and more than 20 inches.
Ability to accurately determine color and distinguish between colors.
Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word to impart oral information to clients or the public and to convey detailed spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
The ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech both in person, by telephone or other technology.
