2009 Strategic Analysis of the Textile Services Industry
Sales growth among typical TRSA members—which reached 9.5% in 2006—is slowing, though the association’s latest Industry Performance Report shows that improved operations are making firms more profitable. According to 2007 data, the study found that median sales expansion fell to 3.2% as profitability increased 30 basis points to 5.6%. The slower rate of growth marked the first time since 2003 and only the second time in 10 years that member growth failed to exceed the current dollar growth in U.S. Gross Domestic Product (GDP). In 2007, GDP growth in current dollars was 4.8%.
