The concern with the impact of endocrine disrupters discharged to receiving waters has brought the potential for regulation by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Of concern to our industry are the degradation products (nonylphenols) of the detergents (APEs or alkylpheynol etholyates) used in our washroom chemicals. These nonylphenols are classified as potential endocrine disrupters.
