After the COVID-19-related shortages of disposable isolation gowns, are healthcare providers now more open to using reusables?

"Certainly during the first year of the pandemic iso (isolation) gown usage surged. We invested heavily in iso gown inventory along with two new Kannegiesser folding machines to handle the workload, along with scrub processing. Things have settled back down, but we’re still doing a lot of iso gowns, demand for which seems to correspond to new strains. We believe that the reusable iso gowns provide superior protection over most disposable gowns. In New York, customers are required to keep a 90-day supply of disposables, which can be alleviated when switching to reusable gowns—not to mention the landfill/environmental aspects."
