Big Win in Missouri: TRSA-Backed Tax Bill
The Missouri State Legislature recently overturned a veto by Gov. Jay Nixon (D-MO) on Missouri Senate Bill 20 which institutes a sales- and use-tax exemption for materials used by commercial laundries to clean and treat fabrics.
The measure gives commercial laundries a sales-tax exemption on the purchases of electrical energy and gas, chemicals, machinery, equipment and materials used in the processing of laundry. The facility must process at least 500 lbs. per hour and 60,000 lbs. per week to qualify for the exemption.
