Canada’s Jakubowski Receives Award for Entrepreneurial Spirit
Canadian owner/operator Chris Jakubowski, Mega City Linen, recently was honored as Entrepreneur of the Year, and received his award from the Polish Chamber of Commerce. After arriving from Bialystok, Poland, in flight from a communist regime, he worked in a linen factory, where he stacked linen, unloaded trucks and learned the business from the ground up. He launched his family-owned company in the late ’90s. The company, based in Etobicoke, part of western Toronto, started with just four people in a compact 3,000-square-foot facility and now employs between 65-100 people in a massive 63,000-square-foot facility.
