Clean rooms are closed environments employed in applications such as pharmaceutical, biomedical, food and paint production, aerospace and electronics and semiconductor manufacturing. Industries such as these have every reason to be obsessively concerned with eliminating pollutants—both natural and manmade—as their presence in the manufacturing process could compromise product quality.
