Cocivera Ask IRS for Expensing Changes
TRSA President Roger Cocivera’s cited his in-depth experience as a textile service operator in recent testimony calling on an IRS Tax Panel for changes to proposed guidelines on when companies may expense items for tax purposes.
Cocivera outlined in laymen’s terms the managerial and accounting problems that would follow if the IRS rejects TRSA’s suggested improvements in expensing rules.
The June 24 testimony centered on the compliance burden to demonstrate that a company correctly took advantage of expensing washcloths, sheets, uniforms and other items, rather than capitalizing them.
