David James Smith, 62, Burkburnett, TX, passed away on June 30. Smith had a 40-year career in sales management for several companies in the textile services industry. After graduating from Bowling Green State University, he began his career with Challenge Industries of Bryan, OH. He moved to Washex Inc. in Wichita Falls, TX, when Challenge was acquired in 1997. After Washex, Smith held management posts with The Laundry List, Lavatec Laundry Technology Inc. and Consolidated Laundry Machinery, before accepting the vice president of sales & marketing post with Softrol Systems Inc., Acworth, GA.
