Sid Tuchman, 92, the former owner of Tuchman Cleaners, Indianapolis, passed away on Jan. 7 at his home in San Francisco, according to media reports. Tuchman owned and operated more than 30 locations in Indiana and the surrounding states, according to his son, Mitch Tuchman. After polyester gained popularity in the 1970s, he diversified his business model, going into uniform rental to supplement the dry-cleaning business. Sid Tuchman sold the business to Johnson Service Group PLC, London, in 1982.
