Delivery/Routes—Common Denominators Of Service

Route productivity expectations vary in the linen, uniform and facility services industry with each company’s perspectives on the best use of driver time.

At one end of the spectrum, an operation expects its drivers almost exclusively to load, unload and limit personal contact with customers’ staff to discussion of necessities to make the next pick-up and drop-off even more efficient.

At the other extreme, drivers are sales and service representatives, encouraged to take time to note customers’ emerging needs for products and services, but still cognizant of the need to cover all stops on the day’s routes.
