Now that the “dust has settled” on the new administration, it’s time to look to the future of employment and labor laws. 

 
 
President Barack Obama ran on a pro-union platform.  In his book, The Audacity of Hope, he wrote that he owed a debt of gratitude to unions.  As a senator, Obama cosponsored
several pro-labor bills and consistently sided with labor.  Three bills have been introduced in Congress, two of which Obama cosponsored as a senator.  Among other changes, these
bills would:
 

  • Make it easier for unions to organize nonunion employers.
