The Oct. 6, 2009, meeting of the Environmental Leadership Council (ELC) established an aggressive agenda for the challenges expected in the upcoming year and beyond. Over 45 prospective members attended. Chairman Jim Buckman of Cintas Corp. opened the meeting and the ELC approved the following Mission Statement:
 
The ELC will provide analysis, supporting data and strategic input and recommendations on industry environmental issues and technology development.
