EPA Hands Industry Partial Victory on NPEs
On Sept. 5, the U.S. Environmental Protec-tion Agency (EPA) issued its final response to the petition filed by the Sierra Club, UNITE HERE, and several other organizations requesting that the agency take action under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) regarding nonylphenol and nonylphenol ethoxylates (NPE), the primary detergent used in the laundry industry, 72 Fed.
