How to do you explain to hotel managers the need to increase par levels above the bare minimum (1–3 changes of sheets and towels) in order to run an efficient, cost-effective textile program for guests?
"A low par is painful for everyone. I would tell the hotel manager that typically we can look at the par levels as: a) 1 on the bed; b) 1 ready to go on the bed; c) 1 at the laundry for processing: d) 1 for emergencies, staining, losses and theft.
Many hotel chains will only allow a three par. If the par drops below three, you can expect that:
a. Housekeepers have to return to rooms to finish filling the linen standard, thus causing extra labor.
