Nearly 20 next-generation leaders recently participated in TRSA’s Young Executives Workshop at The Hyatt Lodge at the McDonald’s Campus in Oak Brook, IL, west of downtown Chicago. The interactive Family Business Success Factors and Paradoxes workshop generated dialogue around the contradictory nature of family businesses. For example, it examined the conflict between the need for profitable performance vs. family loyalty. The session focused on best practices designed to help multigenerational family and nonfamily members achieve “both and” rather than “either or” solutions for their businesses.
