Prospects of lower fuel costs and government grants are tempting companies in a variety of industries to consider the move to alternative-energy vehicles. Many have begun experimenting with changes to their fleets, but a few companies already have an established track record of using alternatives.
 
Companies aren’t likely to make a dramatic conversion to any type of alternative-energy vehicle, according to Stephen Ybarra, director of market development for NGV America (Natural Gas Vehicles for America). It’s much more cost effective to make a slower transition as the company replaces older vehicles in its fleet.
