Form I-9 Goes Digital
Form I-9—the Employee Eligibility Verification Form—can now be completed, signed and stored electronically. According to the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, which amended the regulations on June 15 to permit electronic record keeping, this option can save a business money while improving record-keeping confidentially, accuracy and quality assurance in the event of an inspection by authorities.
