Healthcare Group Seeks to Cut Waste
The Canadian Coalition for Green Health Care, Hamilton, Ontario, has recently led research on personal protective equipment (PPE) to determine opportunities for reducing plastic waste. This research focused on ideas for reducing and reusing plastic waste in the health system. The research identified personal PPE gowns, approved by the Infection Prevention and Control Canada (IPAC) as the best opportunity for cutting greenhouse gas (GHGs) emissions.
