Adangerous trend has emerged in our industry. Start off with diapers. Every baby in America—95% of the children that were born in America in the ’50s and early ’60s—were in a rental cloth diaper. Today, the business is almost nonexistent. In the ’50s, ’60s, ’70s and early ’80s, over 90% of the towels available in restrooms were cloth roller towels. Today, it’s less than 5%—nearly nonexistent. At one time, 95% of shop towels, or wiping towels used in industrial settings, were cloth shop towels. Today, paper products are primarily used.
