Go NPE-Free or Face EPA Action

While the textile services industry has made significant headway in phasing out its use of laundry chemicals that contain nonylphenol ethoxylates (NPEs), those companies that are still using NPE-based detergents could face regulatory enforcement from the Environmental Protection Agency in the near term.
 
That was the message that Joseph J. Green, an attorney with Kelley Drye & Warren LLP, Washington DC, delivered during a recent webinar that drew some 50 registrants on the topic of cooperative efforts to gradually eliminate NPEs from commercial wash processes.
