‘Green and Growing’
That was the philosophy Myron Zimmerman of Champa Linen, Denver, expounded on in a July 1975 article in the Linen Supply News. “You’re either green and growing or ripe and rotting. You’ve got to keep moving.”
And move he did. At that time, Champa was in the throes of a major plant overhaul that included the installation of the company’s first computer (see photo above).
Other innovations included an overhead rail system, automated feeder/stacking equipment, television monitors on the plant floor and cloth roll towel rolling equipment. These and other improvements generated dramatic savings ...
