‘Green’ Garments—Alsco Uniforms’ Green Effort Is Making Hydromulch For Land Reclamation
Amid growing regulatory pressures on commercial launderers to divert ragged-out textiles—particularly cotton-polyester garments—from landfills, Alsco Uniforms–Australia is partnering with an Aussie firm that’s pioneered an innovative recycling method. This process breaks out polyester for reuse in plastic products, while cellulose from the cotton serves a component for a hydromulch. That material is sprayed on areas cleared of plant life for building projects in order to grow new vegetation.
