Greenhouse Gases REGULATIONS

On Oct. 30, 2009, The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued a final rule (74FR56260) that requires the owner of certain sources of greenhouse gases (GHG) to report these emissions on an annual basis. GHGs, most notably, carbon dioxide (CO2) methane (CH4) and nitrous oxide (N2O) are gases that trap heat in the atmosphere. The gases will accumulate in the atmosphere, unless removed by natural sources. This accumulation, according to EPA, is responsible for global warming over the past 50 years.
