Agroup of nearly 20 healthcare laundry operators from across North America gathered in San Diego on Nov. 20 to discuss a number of concerns that impact their respective businesses. Among these were the consolidation of the healthcare industry and group purchasing organizations (GPOs), the odds of enacting industry-friendly legislation in the new Congress, the impact of proposed new OSHA rules to protect healthcare workers from bloodborne pathogens, the importance of TRSA’s Hygienically Clean certification program and modifying California’s Title 22 rule, which requires 160° laundering for 24 minutes.
