Hospital M&A Trend Continues

Hospital deal-making has remained steady during the first half of 2026. In a single month, at least 12 transactions spanning completed acquisitions, signed agreements and letters of intent have contributed to continual merger and acquisition (M&A) activity in the healthcare sector. Recent major transactions have included a merger between Atrium Health and WakeMed, a multi-state nonprofit combination between Sanford Health and North Memorial Health, and a deal between UPMC and CommonSpirit Health to begin work in Ohio. Operators should look out for challenges and opportunities as healthcare and hospital services continue to grow and evolve. Visit bit.ly/hospGrow.
