Since TRSA launched its Hygienically Clean certification standard in 2012, the program has grown by leaps and bounds, primarily since companies in the linen, uniform and facility services industry have recognized it as the only third-party, independent certification available that provides verification of the quality of a laundry’s textile goods.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) define hygienically clean as a “reduction in microbial counts of bacteria, viruses and other disease-producing organisms and pathogens in sufficient numbers to cause human illness.”
