Immigrant Employees: Pathways to Preparedness
Immigration is a prominent issue in today’s society, especially when it comes to business employment. In fact, a recent article detailed a former worksite supervisor and employee of an Illinois cleaning service. Both were sentenced to prison for their roles in hiring illegal aliens. As a result of the worksite enforcement operation conducted by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the supervisor was ordered to serve 38 months in federal prison, while the employee was sentenced to 10 months in federal prison, without parole. “We’re going to clamp down on employers who knowingly and willfully violate the law,” said Michael Chertoff ...
