Infection-Control Journal Backs Reusable PPE
A recent article that appeared in the American Journal of Infection Control called for the use of reusable personal protective equipment (PPE), such as medical gowns for healthcare providers, especially during surge-capacity situations, such as those experienced during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The article, titled “Disposable Versus Reusable Medical Gowns: A Performance Comparison,” was written by Meredith McQuerry, PhD; Elizabeth Easter, PhD; and Alex Cao, BSc. The article appears in the Journal’s May 1 edition. The study highlights include the following:
