On Aug. 9, TRSA and LinenMaster celebrated International Linen & Uniform Service Day (ILUD), honoring professionals in linen, uniform and facility services. The ILUD, established in 2021, designates Aug. 9 as a day of tribute to Alva J. Fisher, who patented the first electric washing machine on that date in 1910. This invention revolutionized commercial laundering. The primary goal of ILUD is to raise awareness about the critical role of linen services.
