Half of Mississippi Rural Hospitals at Risk
A combination of factors, including low profitability, high rates of uncompensated care and Medicaid shortfalls, could force up to 31 Mississippi hospitals to close in the near term, according to a study cited in an article in Becker’s CFO e-newsletter. 
 
The article noted that 20 of a total of 41 rural hospitals in the Magnolia State are at risk of closure.
