New Tracking Rule Means ‘Paperless’ Trucks
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s (FMCSA) final rule on Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs) took effect on Feb. 16, 2016. This rule will require most commercial laundry drivers that presently complete paper logs to switch to a compliant ELD by Dec. 18. Unless Congress takes action as noted above, operators must move to comply with this fast-approaching deadline. This article provides an overview of the ELD final rule.
