Nonylphenol Ethoxylate (NPE) Phaseout—Where Are We?

Feb. 29, 2012, was an important date for TRSA members as well as members of the textile services industry as a whole. That was the date TRSA submitted a progress report on the phaseout of nonylphenol ethoxylate (NPE) from detergents to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
 
This activity is important because it’s maintaining a commitment in a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between TRSA and the EPA to phase out NPEs in detergents by Dec. 31, 2014. Without this report, or positive results from it, the EPA would move forward with their original plan to force textile services ...
