NPE Phaseout: Ready for Phase One?

The end of 2013 will bring a change for textile service companies. Specifically, on Dec. 31, as part of a 2010 phaseout agreement between TRSA and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), liquid industrial laundry detergents will no longer contain nonylphenol ethoxylates, or NPEs. This process began in 2008 with EPA regulations; it ends on Jan. 1, 2015, with the phaseout of NPEs from both liquid and powder detergents.
