NPE Phaseout: Significant Consequences for Noncompliance

On Dec. 31, 2013, in conjunction with the phaseout program that TRSA and the EPA agreed to in 2010, liquid industrial laundry detergents may no longer contain nonylphenol ethoxylates (NPEs). This process started in 2008 with EPA regulations and will wrap up on Jan. 1, 2015, with the complete phaseout of NPEs from both liquid and powder laundry detergents.
