Obama-Era Sequel… Dems Mobilizing Behind New Restrictive, Union-Backed Bill
I’m writing this article several weeks before Election Day so at press time, the outcome is unknown. However, if the Republican majorities in either or both chambers of the U.S. Congress switch to Democratic control, one labor bill will move to the top of the priority list.
Sens. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) and Cory Booker (D-NJ)—all expected presidential contenders—along with Rep. Mark Pocan (D-WI) have introduced the deceptively named “Workplace Democracy Act” or WDA—S. 2810 and H.R. 5728.
