At this article went to press, there are currently 124 confirmed appointees in President Donald Trump’s administration compared to 310 during the same time frame in President Barack Obama’s administration and 294 in President George W. Bush’s administration.

The lack of administrative appointees has major impacts on the direction and abilities of a given department within an administration. For example, the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) is still missing an assistant secretary to run the agency. Currently Loren Sweatt is the acting assistant secretary.
