Rebuilt American Ironers: Popular Among Independents

When Johanna Ames, president of Ames Linen Service in Cortland, NY, needed more ironing capacity to accommodate growth at her fourth-generation, family-operated, mixed plant, she decided to go with rebuilt American flatwork ironers.
 
“I did a significant amount of research comparing a rebuilt American to the newer, large-diameter ironers,” says Ames, who grew up with a plant that relied entirely on the old workhorses. Her research, along with input from industry veterans, including former TRSA President Roger Cocivera, led Ames to conclude that an American ironer made sense for her operation.
