For decades, hospitals were the embodiment of modern healthcare, and textile service companies in this market were focused on serving those facilities. While laundry operators in the United States continue to profitably service more than 5,500 hospitals, the decline in number of hospital beds—despite the aging of the U.S. population—underscores ongoing changes in the demographics of healthcare. However, textile service companies are adapting to these shifts in the healthcare marketplace.
