Safety Training: Hands-On Hazard Avoidance

One of the principles of successful adult learning—so safe behaviors will follow—is for the learners to actively participate in the training process.
 
I’ve led hundreds of workplace training sessions over 15 years, including safety training. Consistently, the evaluation forms come back with comments that they liked “the group interaction” and “the way you got us involved.” Feedback like this shows that the employees are both involved in the learning and that it is personally relevant to them.
