White Plains Linen, Peekskill, NY, and neighboring business Wheelabrator Westchester recently announced a 10-year renewable energy partnership in Peekskill, NY. The planning and execution of the project took more than three years to complete, and will enable White Plains Linen to reduce its carbon footprint by 90%, the company estimates.
 
Under the 10-year supply agreement, steam from the Wheelabrator Westchester waste-to-energy plant is being piped directly to White Plains Linen’s adjacent 100,000-square-foot commercial laundry facility via a newly constructed steam line.
