Shop Towel Rule—TRSA Compliance Resources Available

On July 31, 2013, TRSA and the industry welcomed the news that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) had issued a final rule on the handling of reusable shop towels. The regulation is officially titled “Conditional Exclusions from Solid Waste and Hazardous Waste for Solvent-Contaminated Wipes; Final Rule.” In essence, it codifies the best practices that responsible laundry operators have followed for years, going back at least as far as the introduction of this regulation as a proposed rule in November 2003.
