In recent weeks, you’ve probably seen media reports about the Employee Free Choice Act (EFCA), also known as ‘card check.’ You may also have heard that unions are banking heavily on passage of this bill in order to replenish their dwindling share of the U.S. workforce. But what you may not see on TV or in the newspapers is the massive impact this bill would have if it becomes law. To say it would reshape the way our industry does business is no exaggeration, and every operator, whether they run union or nonunion facilities, should take notice and action.
