Just a few years ago, Unitex’s flagship plant operated very differently. The facility was located in the Bronx, NY. There we had dozens and dozens of employees moving textiles up and down the multiple floors of the plant. Our energy costs were rapidly increasing as were our water bills. Productivity was OK, but we all knew that we could do a lot better. We would make a commitment to efficiency then, and today we are reaping the rewards of that decision.
