Water department revenues
Costs are going to rise. As if you didn’t know. There are some items that may have been mentioned in the press that haven’t made the front page. In some areas, water costs are rising due to shrinking usage. This has resulted in reduced water department revenues and potential rate increases or surcharges.
Lower volumes in the sewer will increase the concentration of pollutants that could impact the treatment systems and result in ordinance reviews to lower pretreatment limits. Revenues can also be increased with stronger enforcement.
