‘The Industry is Full of Crap’

A group of industry executives were brainstorming the other day on how to approach the Environmen-tal Protection Agency (EPA) about a new set of regulations under review that—if imposed—would spell catastrophe for textile services operators. If EPA implements these regulations, jobs would disappear and industry compliance costs would soar.  
 
What do you say to a federal agency that can determine your future survival with their decision? How do you get them to listen?  What arguments will work best? Do they even care?
