A growing number of companies, from Phelps Uniform in Iowa to Halifax Linen in North Carolina, have adopted radio frequency identification (RFID) tracking for their garments and flatwork goods. You can count HandCraft Services Inc.’s new outpatient medical plant in Richmond in this category as well, but with a twist—in the packout area you see a roughly 30-by-15-foot bin system that rises nearly to the ceiling.
