In October 2011, TRSA introduced an Energy Benchmarking database available to all members to use as a tool to identify plants in the industry that are “best in class,” and to serve as a method for gauging improvement. It’s estimated that the industry as a whole has an opportunity to save in excess of $20 million by reducing its consumption of natural gas, water and electricity to reasonable targeted levels.
