Up, Up and Away—Airborne Linen Service

Back in the days when gas cost about 30 cents a gallon, the notion of moving linens by air wasn’t such a far-fetched idea. And if you could score a public relations coup in the process—well, so much the better. In any event, Arrowhead Linen Service, San Bernadino, CA, used the photo shown above of a truck-to-helicopter linen transfer in its rollout of an airborne linen service to Las Vegas.  The photo appeared under the headline, “Looks Like a ‘Clean’ Getaway,” in the May 1964 edition of Linen Supply News.
